zfweb put up part of the prize for the very first online diva's event in October last year and it was a great success. We had some very inspiring ideas (such as new zfweb client
Style4Hire) and a winner in Penny Flanders, whose simple but elegant idea for an online store selling quality second hand designer fashion is now a reality thanks to the prize! Check out
www.missmoneypenny.net.au for some recession friendly shopping.
As a result, zfweb was very happy to put up the prize for the most recent Sydney event, again for five thousand dollars. This time we decided that rather than winning a website, the winner could use the amount for any of zfweb's services, including web design, development, consulting or even logo design. This opened it up to Divas with new ideas but also to those who had had begged, borrowed or stole to get their idea up and running but wanted to get the professional edge.
We got a range of bloggers, ecommerce ideas and more entrepreneurial ideas spread across nearly 50 entries and I can't tell you how encouraging it was to see so diverse, yet well grounded business ideas for the online space. Most encouraging was those that had used free or nearly free products available on the internet to start building traffic, content and a brand. They may not be perfect but at least they're out there.
We were spoilt for choice, but judging across a range of criteria, the winner was Christie from www.mumswap.com.au. Christie and I will be sitting down in Melbourne in a few weeks to discuss the best way for her to spend her 5K credit note with zfweb. The rest of the runners up and entries will be offered a complimentary consulting session.
Love
Zoe
